Then, he studied secondary school in Liverpool and he excelled in drama, art and mechanics. Ringo joined The Beatles in 1962 to replace Pete Best. His quirky style was often cited as an influence by modern artists. Even though his position in the band was a drummer but he showed his ability in writing songs; it was shown when he wrote and sang some tracks, including Octopus’s Garden and Yellow Submarine.

In 1970 The Beatles are broken up. Ringo decided to start his solo career. He also narrated television shows for children entitled Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends and Shining Time Station.
