Rachael ray was born in New York. Her mother, Elsa Scuderi, was from Italy and the ancestors of her father, James Ray, came from various parts of the United Kingdom. Her passion in cooking started since she was still young. It was because her parents had four restaurants in Massachusetts. Actually, it was easy for Rachael to get a job in her parents’ restaurants but she decided to choose her own way. She started working at Macy’s Candy counter in the late 1990s and went on to manage foods department in the same place.

Her net worth boosted to the higher gear when the local TV channel, WRGB, asked her to create weekly segments. Following this, she then gained national exposure on the radio and finally she published her first book. Soon, she got a contract with Food Network in 2001, which continues until today.
